Thanks to the release of Uptrends update 4.0.63, it is now possible to block outgoing Google Analytics requests to full page check, real browser check, and transaction probes.

What does it do?

The Google Analytics blocking function will help to make sure that your web analytics are not skewed by Full Page Check (FPC), Real Browser Check (RBC), and Transaction probesmonitoring your website.

Requests sent by Google Analytics will still appear in your FPC waterfall charts to verify that tracking codes are still a part of your web pages, but the requests that they make to communicate to Google will be blocked.

How do you enable Google Analytics blocking?

Google Analytics blocking can be configured when you create new FPC, FPC+, RBC, or Transaction probes, or by editing an existing probe via the Probes page.

To enable Google Analytics blocking, click on the “Advanced” tab located in the probe configuration settings.

Once you are on the “Advanced” tab you will see an option labeled “Block Google Analytics.” To enable it, click the checkbox, and then click the green “Save” button to save your new probe settings configuration.

That’s all there is to it!
