Get hooked! New integrations & webhooks from Uptrends

You may already know about our alerting integrations with Slack, PagerDuty, and StatusHub, but now we’ve added support for VictorOps, ServiceNow, and generic webhooks. Now we can hook you up with most any third-party messaging system you would like.

We’ve worked for months developing our new integrations. A big thanks to all of you that helped us in our private beta. We’ve published our new integration options for use with our Premium, Professional, Business, and Enterprise accounts. Log in now and start using the new integrations today!

What is an Integration?

When your Uptrends monitors find issues with your website, API, or web application, Uptrends sends out a message using your alert definitions. In your alert definitions, you set up the information needed for Uptrends to send messages using messaging services.

For example, when Uptrends gets a confirmed error in response to one of your checks, Uptrends checks your alert definitions to see how and to whom it needs to send the error message. How Uptrends needs to send the message is defined by the integrations you have set up in the alert definition.

New VictorOps and ServiceNow Integrations

Previously, you had the options in Uptrends to choose email, Phone/voice, SMS, and the third-party messaging applications: Slack, PagerDuty, and Statushub. Now you can also get your messages through VictorOps and ServiceNow as built-in integrations. It only takes a few clicks to set up one of our built-in integrations. If none of those work for you, then you can probably set one up using a webhook.

What is a Webhook?

A webhook is merely an API that can accept and process incoming messages. As long as you know how to format the API call, you can set up communication using a webhook.

We’ve built in the most commonly used services for your team to get alerts (and we will continue to add more), but the list of services available for for integrations continues to grow. If the service you use most isn’t on our current list, you can probably still use them using our new webhooks editor. If the service supports webhooks (i.e., has an API capable of receiving incoming messages), we’ve got you covered.

Our new integration editor lets you set up the communication with the third-party service using the format and the information they need to process the message.

You have two options in custom integrations:

Uptrends Integration

An easy-to-use integration that can connect to any API that can process Uptrends’ alert message format. All you need to do is fill in the URL.

Integration from scratch

We start you out with an empty integration template so that you can define the integration to match the language and format the service needs to process the message.
