This week, meet the North America Customer Account Manager, JoJohn (JJ) Torres. JJ joined the Uptrends team in spring of 2016. JJ’s exuberance for the role is infectious to both the Uptrends team and his customers.
What is your role at Uptrends?
“In a nutshell, I want to make sure customers are happy and satisfied with their Uptrends monitoring service by maintaining an ongoing relationship.”
“I check on existing customers to ensure that each customer receives the full value of their Uptrends monitoring services. I watch how the customers use their Uptrends service. I try to educate them on how they can optimize their monitors, and I inform them of other monitor types that may meet their needs based on my review of their website.”

So, who is JJ?
Born in the Philippines, JJ immigrated to the United States with his family when he was just two years old. After a “nomadic” lifestyle in the North-Eastern US, the Torres family settled in Boca Raton, Florida where JJ grew up. JJ still lives just south of Boca Raton with his two dogs.
What do you like to do for fun?
“Besides dining with friends and family, I enjoy going to a museum, and since I live near the coast, I love to walk on the beach and listen to the ocean and watch the sunrise. The Atlantic waterways and the coastal waters is one of the best parts of living in South Florida. Occasionally, I will enjoy some of Florida’s nightlife entertainment, although, at my age, I rarely make it past one in the morning.”
“I love soccer, and I love playing my guitar. I have played wind instruments in the early part of my life upgrading to playing the Saxophone in my High School Marching Band. Then, I moved onto being a pianist for years after. Now, while home, I play an Electric Gibson Guitar, which is a Les Paul Jr.”
What were you doing before Uptrends?
“I started in the hospitality industry, but I then transitioned into the world of technology when I went to work for a web hosting company. I worked with companies that provided tools for building websites, blogs, and email marketing. There were so many different companies in the tech world that I worked for, including e-retailers and telecommunication providers.”
