Q1 and Q2 2017 revenue up by 25%

Wow! Where does the time go? 2017 is rushing by, and we’ve had a ton of things going on here at Uptrends. Growth continues with a 25% increase in revenue for Q1 and Q2 over the same period in 2016. We’ve gained many new accounts, and we introduced new features, enhancements, and products.

Real User Monitoring enters beta

We’ve expanded our product line beyond Synthetic Monitoring, and we now have Real User Monitoring (RUM). We took Real User Monitoring from alpha phase testing to beta testing in the first half of 2017, and we made the beta trial public. We would like to give a hardy, “thank you,” to everyone that participated in the free RUM beta trials, for we’ve appreciated your input. Your input and participation will make the final release of RUM a better product. You can learn more about RUM and the RUM trials in our Knowledge Base, and it isn’t too late to get in on the final days of the RUM beta trials.

Enhancements

Our development team took some extra time over the first half of 2017 to work on some enhancements to the UI and improve reporting and error analysis.

URL blocking and the waterfall report

When making a Full Page Check or Real Browser Check, sometimes you do not want the browser sending certain requests. For example, you probably don’t want your Uptrends testing to appear in your analytics. Uptrends makes it easy to block those requests from taking place, and now it is easy to spot blocked requests in your waterfall report. Blocked requests appear in the waterfall report with a strikethrough the URL.

New dashboard tiles

Flexibility in reporting is important to you and us. When we see an opportunity to expand on our available options, we like to jump on it, so we’ve added new tile options for your custom dashboards. Besides the ever growing list of RUM tiles, you can now include three new tiles on your performance dashboards:

  • Last Full Page Check details
  • Full Page Check grid
  • Full Page Check Timing chart

Shareable URLs

It is now easier to share Monitor Details with your team. We gave each Monitor Detail its own URL. Just grab the URL off of the browser window, and you can send it to any other authorized operators.  Also, we include the new URL in alert emails and Slack messages. No more having to search for a check detail!

Easy to read and access error descriptions

We’ve updated our Knowledge Base with expanded and searchable error codes and definitions. We also include information about possible causes and resolution with the description when possible. To make error resolution even easier, we’ve added a link to your check details report that will take you directly to the Knowledge Base error description.

Chart drill downs

Now when you click a particular spike or chart element on your dashboard, we load the monitor log filtered on the reports surrounding the particular spike or chart element. You can now easily see what led up to a particular event. Just one simple click!

More reporting granularity

You can now filter your data based on hours. Previously, data filter options were limited to selecting days or day ranges. We’ve added the hour to the period selection, so you have full control of what data you want to see on a particular day or spread of days.

Ten-year milestone

Uptrends celebrated ten years of operation in April. The party included a special dinner, mementos, and toasts for our founders. It was a special evening for us all. As part of the month long celebration, we also interviewed two of the founders to get their thoughts and reflections on the last ten years.

Trade fairs

We do enjoy a good trade show. We attended two shows during the first half of 2017. Ralf took the German team and maintained a booth at Internet World E-Commerce Fair this past March in Munich. Fred and JJ of the US team attended IRCE 2017 in Chicago earlier this summer. It was great for both teams to meet current and future Uptrends users.

Looking ahead

Our momentum doesn’t show any signs of slowing. Our developers continue to write new functionality and expand and improve on existing solutions. We are excited about new features coming your way soon. Be the first to know about new features by following us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+.
